About this test

This profile for women analyses a blood sample and a self-swab checking for the commonest sexually transmitted infections - chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and syphilis.

Most women have no symptoms from these infections so testing is essential. It is a fast and discrete way to make sure you're safe.

This test can be done on samples collected at home or at one of our phlebotomy locations.

What can I expect from Female Sexual Health - Advanced Screen?

Sexually transmitted infections are very common in young people and increasingly common throughout the lives of any sexually active adult, and testing is the only way to be confident you are safe.

infections tested for are chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and syphilis which are the commonest sexually transmitted infections.

It is estimated that 1 in 10 sexually active young people have a chlamydia infection.

By far the majority of women do not have any symptoms at all for the infections being tested and if they do, the symptoms are often so mild as to be ignored.

Despite the lack of symptoms the potential for serious harm is very high with all the conditions tested for. They can cause infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease, liver failure and unfortunately, even death.

Many people choose to test when starting a serious relationship or at regular intervals.

Testing is essential to keep you safe.

Samples can be collected at home or given in any of our nationwide locations.
