About this test

This test detects double-stranded DNA (anti-ds DNA) autoantibodies in blood. Increased quantities of this autoantibody is associated with a greater risk of having Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and Autoimmune Hepatitis, in particular. 50-70% of individuals with SLE will have elevated level of anti-ds DNA antibodies.
