About this test

Three reasons to choose the Better2Know Prostate Health Test

  • We will tell you what your PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) levels are

  • We will tell you if you are at risk of developing Prostate Cancer

  • This test has fast and accurate results that can save your life

Use Better2Know's Prostate Health test to understand your risk of developing Prostate Cancer.

Who is the Prostate Health test for?

The Better2Know Prostate Health test is designed for men who want or need to know if they are at risk of developing Prostate Cancer. When the Prostate Gland stops functioning correctly, it can develop a malignancy (cancer) which if not properly diagnosed, can lead to severe illness, reproductive problems, and even death. The Better2Know Prostate Health test is the most reliable screening test for Prostate Cancer. From a small blood sample, our laboratory will measure the amount of PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) in your blood. The amount of PSA is a highly reliable indicator of Prostate Health.

What does the test include?

Your Better2Know Prostate Health test will determine the following:

  • PSA Levels

  • Calculated PSA and Free PSA Ratios

  • If you have an enlarged Prostate Gland or a Prostate Cancer

How do I schedule my appointment?

To start your booking process, use the "Get Started" button located at the top of the page. Select an appropriate clinic, date, and time that meet your specific requirements.

What can I expect at my appointment?

This Prostate Health test will be conducted by a qualified medical professional at a clinic of your preference. Your sample will be collected in a discreet consultation room where the process will be explained to you.

What happens to my sample?

Once we have taken your blood sample, it will be dispatched to our accredited laboratory for analysis. The expected turnaround time for this Prostate Health test is approximately two days from the moment the laboratory receives your sample.

How will I receive my test results?

Once the analysis has been completed, your test results will be securely uploaded to your dedicated online Patient Area. Additionally, you will receive a notification through your chosen method of communication, whether it be a phone call, email, or SMS.

What should I do with my test result?

Knowing your Prostate Health status is very important information. If there is any indication of elevated levels of PSA, Better2Know will arrange for you to speak to one of our Doctors to discuss your results. High levels of PSA can occur when the Prostate Gland becomes inflamed, enlarged, or is progressing towards a cancer. There is effective treatment available to address any problem, but these need to be identified early to ensure the best outcome for you.

Prostate Specific Antigen

Used as a screening process for Prostate Cancer. A high total PSA level may mean there is an enlarged prostate gland. Although a rise in PSA is associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer, a number of benign (that is, not cancerous) conditions can also cause the PSA level to rise.
