HRT means the replacement of any hormone that the body is missing. In the case of this test, HRT refers to the replacement of the hormones in women which are no longer produced during the perimenopausal period (the period leading up to the menopause), or after the menopause itself. If you are taking HRT medication, the levels of these hormones will be restored and will alleviate symptoms such as night sweats, hot flushes, vaginal dryness, irritability, low sex drive, low mood, and sleep disturbance. Our HRT test will assess whether your hormones are optimally balanced whilst taking your HRT medication.
If you are taking HRT medication and are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above, the Better2Know HRT test is suitable for you.
You will be required to provide a blood sample, which will then be sent for analysis at our accredited country laboratory.
Your test results will be ready within just one working day of your samples arrival at our laboratory. As soon as they are available, your confidential results will be reported on Better2Know's secure patient area. We will provide you with log in details for the secure patient area after we have processed your booking. After all your results are ready, one of our experienced advisors will contact you personally.
Your results will show whether the levels of oestradiol 17-beta and progesterone in your body are in optimal balance for alleviation of your menopausal symptoms. If your results reveal an abnormal balance of hormones, you should seek medical advice from a doctor. You may be advised to change the type of HRT you are taking. Better2Know has a network of skilled doctors situated across the country. Your friendly advisor can organise a private consultation with one of these doctors for you to discuss your results in more depth and provide guidance on treatment options.
