What is a Fit to Fly certificate?
COVID-19 Fit to Fly certificates certify that the holder of the travel health form has recently tested negative for COVID-19.
Depending on which country you are visiting, you may be required to provide a Fit to Fly certificate, showing proof of a negative Covid-19 result taken within 48-96 hours of arriving at your destination.
This service is not suitable for the Travel Testing Package or Test to Release.
What type of testing is used for Fit to Fly?
Our Fit to Fly services utilise RT-PCR tests which are recognised as the global, gold-standard COVID-19 testing method, to detect viral RNA of the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus. This is the same test that Prenetics use for the Premier League, England and Wales Cricket Board, as well as many other businesses.
What are the testing options for Fit to Fly?
Travellers have the option of ordering either our Fit to Fly at home COVID-19 kit or booking a Fit to Fly test at one of our pop-up Testing Pods in England.
When should I book/order my Fit to Fly test?
We recommend booking or ordering your Fit to Fly test in advance before your flight. This will help to ensure that either your kit arrives on time, or that there is a test slot available at one of our Testing Pods. This would allow for the correct amount of time between taking your test and receiving your results.
Depending on which country you are visiting, you may be required to provide a Fit to Fly certificate, showing proof of a negative Covid-19 result taken within 48-96 hours of arriving at your destination.
You will need to review the requirements of the country you are flying to regarding the specific timeframe for a Fit to Fly certification and prepare accordingly.
Please note: If you need to test on a Saturday or Sunday, our at home test kit may not be suitable for you. We recommend booking an on-site test at one of our local COVID-19 Testing Pods.
What information will there be on my Fit to Fly certificate?
The results from your Fit to Fly COVID-19 test include all the information required for your certificate, including:
How long does it take to receive the results?
Within 24 hours of us receiving your swab at our UK-based laboratory, your sample will be analysed, and your results will be delivered securely online.
You will be notified by email when your results are ready.
What happens if my flight is changed or cancelled?
For a Testing Pod booking at one of our pop-up locations:
If your flight is cancelled and you no longer need your Fit to Fly booking, send us proof of your flight cancellation to receive a full refund.
If your flight is changed, you can change your appointment time up to 24 hours before your time slot, free of charge, by contacting our customer service.
What happens if my result is positive?
If your COVID-19 test result comes back positive, you will not be able to travel, and are required to quarantine for 10 days. Count the 10 days starting from the day after you took the test, or from when you first had symptoms if that is earlier.
People you live with in the UK, or people you are staying with, should also quarantine for 10 days from the date of your positive test.
I'm not travelling, can I still order a Project Screen COVID-19 test?
Yes, of course. We have our Health Check COVID-19 test that will confirm whether or not you are currently infected with coronavirus (COVID-19). There is a huge amount of reasons why people wish to discover their current COVID-19 status - whether you need to test for work, to provide care, or simply for reassurance.
